Delusional Chasm |
When the satellite crashed, it formed a large crater. The ground shook and large cracks formed. From the fissures bubbled magma that filled the crater. The surrounding area was scorched and all plant life perished. Even after the fires long subsided, the immediate area never healed. The satellite may be gone, but it forever scarred the lands. As the plague took effect the crater seemed to call to those infected. The barren land became a haven and their talons helped carve it to what it is today. It was dubbed the Chasm by the creatures of the land. It remains a kingdom for the infected that the Caedis have claimed as their own. In the furthest corner lies a cavern nestled along the cliffs of an inactive volcano. This cavern is where the higher rankings reside, dubbed as the 'Castle'. In the center chamber of the cavern are thrones carved from stone and roots. To the left is the Sire and Dame's chambers. To the right is a tunnel, branching off into chambers for the other higher ranks. The Chasm is dotted with jagged peaks and rock formations. A large collection of lava is pooled at the center. In the middle of this magma lake is a island. This island is where the Caedis hold meetings. Along the cliffs to the right is where the dungeon is. Prisoners of the tribe are kept here under constant guard of the Barons. The cliffs here are lined with cages that the tribe secured from the abandoned Laboratory before it crumbled. This is also where those unfortunate enough to be captured are tortured. The Caedis are crafty and have an assortment of contraptions and methods for this past time. To the left of the crater is a flat area. It's mostly void of any debris and surrounded by jagged rocks, This area serves are an arena of sorts where the tribe trains and holds skirmishes. Countless creatures have lost their lives in this very spot or have been forced to prove their worth. Those that aren't privileged with a higher rank take shelter among the various rock formations and boulders that dot the crater. There are caves and tunnels, but their often fought over. The entirety of the chasm is surrounded by mountains on one side and steep cliffs. The terrain is impassible which makes the chasm extremely protected. The only entrance is by a tunnel that leads out to the main lands. This tunnel is constantly guarded. |
